PSYCH STATS ON KIDS

According to 2002 Newsletter of Touch the Future, in an article entitled Home Alone America:
- The teen suicide rate has increased three fold between 1960 and 1990. Rising 27% for girls and 71% for boys between 1979 and 1988.
- Between 1965 and the late 1980s, the amount of time the average American child spent interacting with parents dropped by 43% from approximately 30 hours a week to 17 hours a week.
- Most estimates place the number of latch key kids at between 5-15 million.
