Dr. Andrew Weil, in his December, 2001 issue of Self-Healing: Creating Natural Health for Your Body and Mind, discussed the symptoms characteristic of the aftermath of trauma, in an article entitled After Trauma. Dr. Weil describes himself as a physician who practices Integrative Medicine, that is, acknowledging the mind/body connection.

Dr. Weil outlines not only the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, including the risk factors, but also suggests some treatment options, including group therapy, EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
